Green Tip: Recycled glass is often used in industrial contexts-in sandblasting abrasives, epoxy aggregates, waste water filtration materials, and "glaspalt" paving, to name a few. However, there are some opportunities for consumers to purchase products identifiably manufactured from recycled glass. Try these websites for dependable and useful products: www.greenfeet.com (mugs), www.abundantearth.com (tumblers), and www.williams-sonoma.com (wine glasses).

Each year Americans recycle 38 percent of the 12 millions tons of glass they use. There's no reason the percentage couldn't grow; glass can be recycled indefinitely, with no loss of quality in the new product. [This tip brought to you by Page-a-Day calendar.]

John McCain gave his acceptance speech last night at the close of the GOP Convention among roars from the crowd and, at times, protesters. In a setting that was designed to mimic the town hall style of delivery at which he excels, he gave the biggest speech of his political career. It seems that most of the points hit well with the base, however, there were exceptions. The exceptions were the most interesting parts.

Happy Birthday Wishes to George Robert "Bob" Newhart. Perhaps known best for the Bob Newhart Show in the 70's and Newhart in 80's, he is a life long comedian who has been in television since the beginning of the 1960's. He has also done film work and commercials as well.

Clearly, I forgot to post a comic on yesterday's entry. I got to caught up in hunting down the video. I've corrected that now for anyone that reads them.
