The NBA had its dreams come true last night when the Boston Celtics finished off the Detroit Pistons to advance to the NBA Finals. This sets up the ideal match-up of the LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics, the 11th time that they have met in the finals. These two storied franchises will start their quest for the NBA's top prize this week. The ratings should deliver a win for the NBA as these two teams duke it out with a titanic matching of star power. I might even watch a game or two. Of course, if the Mavericks hadn't flaked out so early, I might have watched even more.

It's hard to believe that in two weeks time, I'll be out on vacation to Pensacola, Florida. There will actually be three weekends that you won't see me in the store this month. Next weekend, I'll be in Austin for the state convention. The following two weekends, I'll be on vacation. I'm pretty sure that this is the first time in my ten years of working at Sugarless delite that I have had three weekends in a month off. I'm not quite sure that I will know what to do with myself.

This weekend, I know that I will be busy. My wife and I have a dinner and show date set up for this evening. We will dine at RJ's Mexican Cuisine and then go to see the Old 97's at the House of Blues. After a meeting tomorrow for the state convention, we've got a viewing of the last movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Three hours of all out piratical craziness.

Green Tip: These days it's all but impossible to live a life free of carbon emissions. Many people and organizations are working against this reality by participating in programs where they can purchase green credits "offsetting" the pollution they create. These credits may be donated to wind farms, solar installations, and energy-efficiency projects with negative carbon production.

Do Your Part: To learn more, visit a website like www.carbonfund.org/site or www.myfootprint.org; the latter includes a quiz to help you determine your consumption "footprint" on the earth. [Brought to you by Page-a-Day calendar.]

Happy Birthday Wishes to Manuel Aristides "Manny" Ramírez Onelcida. Mr. Ramírez is one of the most feared hitters in Major League Baseball. Born in the Dominican Republic, he moved to the states in 1985. While he started his baseball career in Cleveland, he will probably best be remembered for his time in Boston where he has played since the start of the 2001 season. Aside from his formidable hitting, he is also known for his "Manny Moments." The odd lapses in concentration that can sometime be critical and lead to losses for his team are one of the reasons that he is so fun to watch in the field. He is one of the Boston players that I hate to love.

My favorite "Manny Moment"-From his spot in left-center field, Manny inexplicably makes a diving play to cut off a relay throw from center fielder Johnny Damon, allowing David Newhan of the Orioles to score on an inside-the-park home run.

After a few years of tolerating dial-up at work, we are getting ready to take a bold step into the world of DSL next week. AT&T has finally dropped the business prices to reasonable levels. When they first made DSL available last year, the prices were much to high for small businesses. Now, they are closer to the residential levels. Soon, we will see a productivity boon as we limit the time that is spent waiting for things to download and upload on our websites. :)

The last few weeks have been pretty busy, so I have not been able to keep up a constant rotation in my Netflix box. I think that with last nights viewing, I might be back on track until the very busy month of June comes. With all of the vacation time in that month, it will be hard to keep up. I guess the trade off is that I'll be on vacation. I can live with that.

The movie that I watched last night was Blood Diamond. Put simply, this is one of the best films that I've seen in the last five years. Not only does this film work as an entertaining movie, but it also delivers a very powerful message about the plight of many parts of Africa by presenting a stark reality that news clips and sound bites cannot convey.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Djimon Hounsou, and Jennifer Connelly and deliver stellar performances. Mr. Hounsou's acting is particularly powerful as he draws you into the pain and suffering of a man who has been separated from his family by a civil war that is fueled by the conflict diamond trade. I really can't say enough about the acting in the film.

In addition to the wonderful performances, the film moves at a very good pace. While it is over 2 hours long, it keeps moving and keeps the viewer involved and interested. The director, Edward Zwick, did a very nice job of keeping the plot line at the forefront and letting the setting of the civil war in the background constantly running in the viewers mind.

This film easily should have won the Oscar® for Best Film in 2006. If you are looking for a great film with a solid message, I certainly recommend the movie Blood Diamond. Movie Rating: 5 out of 5.

Cake Pieces: All cake pieces are 50% off today when you ask for the special price. (Limit two pieces per person.)

A quick note on bagels: We will receive our shipment on Friday instead of Thursday because of the holiday this week.

Did everyone have a good Memorial Day? We had a great day. Although, the night left something to be desired. It was nice to have a two day weekend thrown into the mix. Since my wife and I both had it off, we got be lazy together.

Sunday, we had a fantastic time at a Murder Mystery party where it turned out that I was one of the killers. Thanks to Holly, Dave, Becky, and Jack for all of their hard work and effort in putting it together and making it run. It's a rare day when we get to relax with all of our friends.

Monday, Erica and I got up late and had low carb peanut butter pancakes with chocolate syrup. The apartment was a little warm after brunch, so we left and went to the mall for a big shopping extravaganza. Not that we really bought much of anything. Mainly, we just looked around to stay out of the heat. After a few more shop stops, we returned home to find the apartment still warm.

We quickly realized that the air conditioner was running without producing any cold air. This is the fourth time that we have had this issue. We doubled up the fans and watched the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. While this part of the evening was fine, the sleeping part was a little ruff at 85 degrees. I turned in our rent check, intent to vacate at the end of our lease letter, and a maintenance request for the AC noting the number of times that we have had an issue with it. I hope that it will be fixed by tonight.

Hopefully, everyone has got some good plans for Memorial Day weekend. My wife and I have a very busy day tomorrow. We've got a Murder Mystery birthday bash planned for the afternoon and early evening. Neither of us have every done one of these, so it should make for an interesting day. Late in the evening, we've got a grill out with my fraternity brothers. On Monday, we are going to relax.

Meanwhile, the weather looks like it might put a small damper on some of the traditional outdoor activities. But, I'm sure that we'll be able to make it through the rain showers, if there are any, and have ourselves a good time. The upside of the rain might be that the humidity will lighten up. The last few days has been a killer for me when I've been outside. It's usually around this time that I am reminded why I don't like Texas during the summer.

While neither Rick nor I will be in on Monday, the store will be open from 12 PM to 6 PM. We've got two people covering who would much rather be busy than slow. So, don't forget to come in and pick up a dessert or some yogurt for the Memorial day celebrations.

Green Tip: The old recommendation that leftover and expired medicines be flushed down the toilet has been superseded. The EPA says many drugs are unchanged by wastewater treatment, so they may harm fish and encourage development of drug-resistant germs. Finishing all of the medicine eliminates the issue, and it's almost always recommended by the prescribing doctor. You can also check whether your local hazardous waste program will accept expired medicines. [Brought to you by Page-a-Day calendar.]

I added a badge to the blog yesterday. You can see it on the right hand column underneath the subscribe link. It is from a company called Brighter Planet. It's a company that focuses on carbon offset purchases and renewable energy. They have a credit card that uses its reward points to purchase carbon offsets. I know that a few of my friends on other blogs have already added the badge. If you would like to help in the campaign and you have a blog, click on the badge and add it to your site. Don't forget to email them and let them know that you've added joined. (Warning: They will email you.)

Happy Birthday Wishes to Jewel Kilcher. Known simply as Jewel, this singer/songwriter/actor/poet has had one amazing career. The rise of her career is almost legendary in the music business. While at one point she was living out of her van from gig to gig, after her first album released in 1995, she became an instant success. In fact, Pieces of You has become one of the top selling albums of all time with over 12 million copies sold.

Honorable Birthday Mentions: Philip James Selway-British drummer for Radiohead, Drew Allison Carey-American actor/comedian/game show host, William Nathaniel "Buck" Showalter-MLB manager.

The bagels, pita, and English Muffins have arrived! The bagels (Blueberry, Sweet Wheat, Cinnamon, Onion, White, and Perfect 10), the white and wheat pita, and English Muffins are currently in stock. Great options for Weight Watchers®.

Tonight, the New Indiana Jones movie will be released. While I'm looking forward to seeing this one, Erica and I are going to wait a few weeks until my parents come in town so that we can see it as a family. Whatever the final reviews are, we'll still go to see it. The point of an Indiana Jones movie is never to have a work of art, but a work of entertainment. I think that it will be able to live up to that standard.

In honor of it's release, here are a series of comic strips from Brewster Rocket: (as always, click to enlarge)

The Only Constant Is Change

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Chocolate Banana, and Roasted Almond.

Sierra deLite Bars: Ask for our special and get these wonderfully tasty bars for only $2.99 today (regularly $4.50).

I'm not sure if it is a by product of being an adult, but things sure do seem to be changing more rapidly in the world than they did when I was younger. I lived the first 13 years of my life with the Cold War. After that, I saw the rise of the Pax Americana. Nevertheless, the year 2000 and onward gets a little bit blurry. Things are constantly in flux.

If you look around in the last year alone, we've had a crazy election cycle for both major parties, changes in Russia's stance towards the West, economic crisis in the housing and banking industries, economic goldmines in the commodities markets, one Castro out and another softer Castro in Cuba, natural disasters in Asia, etc. I think part of what happens is that you start to look beyond yourself when you get older. These types of changes always go on around us, we just might not always be looking for them.

Throw in the little and big changes in our everyday lives, and there is a lot that is going on in the world. Currently, we've got a potential big change in our personal lives as we look towards our future and consider the purchase of a home. While we were originally planning on waiting until the winter time, there are a few good options out there now that might be worth moving the schedule to secure. One change we would welcome would be a drop in mortgage rates.

Quiz Day: How Independent Are You?

Your Independence Level: High

You are definitely into doing your own thing.
But you also wouldn't turn down help if you needed it.
You follow your own path, but you don't do so blindly.

Sophmore Slump

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Peach, and Roasted Almond.

Chocolite Bars: Mix and match any three caddies of Chocolite bars and chocolates (48 total) and get a free ten dollar yogurt gift card today.

I finally got to rest last night after dinner. Going to bed before 10 PM is a rarity for me, but getting 11 hours of sleep is even more rare. Nevertheless, the busy nature of the weekend compelled me to sleep or get sick. Sleep sounded like more fun than any potential illness that might arise. Of course, the odd side effect of getting that much sleep is that you always feel tired when you awake from the monstrous slumber.

When I check the box office take from the weekend, I was surprised to see that The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian only took in 56.6 million on its opening weekend, but I do have an idea why. We went to go see it on Saturday. Both Erica and I very much enjoyed the first one, but these were our reservations about the follow-up.

The second movie in the Narnia series suffered on several fronts. First, the film made several alterations to the story of the book that, while minor, were unnecessary and took away from the overall feel of the story. Second, the film was too long. Unfortunately, the extra length was primarily due to two long fight scenes. Producers and director might one day learn that we don't need for these battles to rage on for 20 plus minutes. The story is more important than the visuals. Lastly, the story seems to be missing some of the Christian overtones that are found in the book and were prevalent in the first movie. Without them, the world of Narnia seems to suffer devoid of its magic.

While the combination of these factors did not prevent the film from being good, it might prevent it from reaching the block buster status of the first film. These are also problems that, if continued, could prevent the films from being a viable series. My hope is that Disney corrects them for the next installment of the series called The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I would still recommend the film; however, it is not one that you must rush out and see. Movie Rating: 3 out of 5.

At Least It's a Good Tired

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Peach, and Cappuccino.

Brownie Special: Buy 2 brownies for 5 dollars when you ask us for the special (regularly #3.49 each). Limit 2.

We got news last week that the yogurt machine is now in Italy or, at least the part we need, is there. It was supposed to ship out at the end of the week. Hopefully, we will have all three machines operating again by the day after Memorial Day.

Speaking of Memorial Day, we will be open from 12 PM to 6 PM next Monday for the Memorial Day celebration. There is also a bonus reward for Yogurt Club Members.

This weekend was a flurry of activity. My wife surprised me with some very thoughtful and loving gifts on Saturday. One of them was a wonderful charity that she found called from Feed Projects called Feed 100. The bag that results from the purchase of the charitable contribution served as my gift bag for the other gifts that she gave me. I thought it was very creative and very cool.

Of all the things that we did, the one that I was most looking forward to was using the ticket to the Radiohead concert last evening. The band put on a fantastic show once again. I've now seen them three times and each one has been unique. The stage show was amped up for this tour. A fountain of lights danced around them on each song. Despite the visual explosion, the overall mood of the music was more soothing. While some high energy songs were played, they seemed to be happy to slow a lot of it down and to enjoy the moment.

The difference in the music this time around came more in the form of subtle changes. Gone were the big mix-ups in the 2001 and 2004 tours. To notice them this time, you're ears had to be on alert. A song has never sounded the same at any Radiohead concert. Yet, a song has never sounded bad either. They seem to build on the energy of the moment even if it is all planned out. Put simply: Brilliant!

Set List:

Set 1: All I Need, There There, 15 Step, Bangers and Mash, Nude, Pyramid Song, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, The National Anthem, Dollars and Cents, Faust Arp, Videotape, A Wolf At The Door, Optimistic, Reckoner, Everything In Its Right Place, Idioteque, Bodysnatchers

Blogger Special: Give us the answer to the following trivia question and get a free small yogurt (one per person). What country signed their Constitution on this date in 1814?

It's official: I'm old. At 6:55 AM, in the midst of my sleep, I turned 30 this morning. Thankfully, I was able to celebrate it last night at the Bavarian Grill with my friends. I enjoyed having time to sit back and relax. I'd like to send out a big thank you to everyone who came out to watch me once again attempt to play the birthday bells. Also, a big thank you to my wife for her love and support and the excellent dinner. :)

After work, Erica and I are going to see the new Narnia movie and have a nice dinner. I'm pretty sure that I got her to agree to watch some anime with me too. I also get to open my birthday present and card. Tomorrow, I get to enjoy the coolest birthday present ever: Radiohead in Dallas! I'm really excited to see the lads again.

Tip Time

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Peach, and Cappuccino.

Parfait Day! All parfaits are only $2.99 (regularly $3.99) today if you ask for the special.

Green Tip: Here are a couple of natural alternatives for you home.

Moth Repellents: Mothballs contain toxic naphalene or paradichlorobenzene; they should be disposed of only through a licensed hazardous waste handler or a municipal hazardous waste collection program. Avoid buying them in the first place by protecting clothes in closed bags. Also try these aromatic moth repellents: cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, or whole cloves wrapped in cheesecloth.

Weedkillers:

There's no need to resort to commercial herbicides to get rid of weeds awakened by warmer spring weather. Squirt them with lemon juice or vinegar, or scald them with boiling water. (The toughest ones may need two applications.)

Happy Birthday Wishes to Pierce Brendan Brosnan. Mr. Brosnan is well known for his roles as Remington Steele and as James Bond. In the later role, he helped to resurrect the spy movie series. His first Bond film, GoldenEye, grossed over 350 million dollars. It also inspired an N64 game of the same name that cost me the better half of my Sophomore year in college. (Super Bomberman and Warcraft claimed the Freshman year.) In addition to his acting career, he is also a dedicated environmental activist.

Honorable Birthday Mentions: Tracy Gold-American actress, Janet Jackson-singer-song writer/record producer/dancer/actress and not a wardrobe specialist, and Megan Fox-American actress.

Cone Day! All cones are only $2.08 today (regularly $2.77) when you ask for the Cone Day special.

I was a little nervous about my trip to the dentist this morning. After the big work that I had done on my teeth two years ago, I've been pretty religious about the flossing and routine cleanings and check-ups. However, I let it slid to twice the normal length between cleanings this time.

Nevertheless, my work at home has served me well. For the forth time in a row, I've had a check-up without a cavity. :) Given my track record, this is a very good report. I'm hoping that this is a new trend. I, of course, will do my part to continue down this path. It makes my check-ups much more palatable.

On the days that we actually get it here, I try to flip through the Dallas Morning News Quick. You never know what you are going to find in the margins of the paper. Today's copy had an interesting side blurb on page 9 about religious persecution. Arwel Wynne Hughes, who attacked a Jedi church in Wales while he was dressed as Darth Vader, received mercy from the court today and will not have to serve jail time.

Cake slices are 50% off today. Just ask for the cake slice special and get up to 2 cake slices for half of their regular price.

In the last month, I've actually bought 6 albums. I haven't bought to many albums since I've been married, but there have been some really good ones that have come out recently. Today, one of my favorite bands releases their newest effort. The Old 97's are putting out Blame It on Gravity, and I will pick up my copy today.

We've got tickets for their show in Dallas at the House of Blues on May 31st. In the meantime, I'm sure that my wife and I will keep ourselves entertained by listening to the new album and learning the new songs. If I wasn't already set to go see Speed Racer tonight with one of my friends, I would certainly be at the CD release party down at the Granada Theater at 7 PM tonight. Outside of their music, the greatest thing about the Old 97's is that they are a Dallas band through and through. They are also a great group of guys.

If you've never seen the Old 97's live, you're missing one of the best concert experiences out there. If you haven't heard of them, check them out. I'll let you know how the new album is in a few days.

Our yogurt machine seems to really be enjoying its vacation, but we do expect it to report back to work by the end of this week.

I hope that everyone had a happy Mother's Day. We were pretty busy in the store last week getting orders together and sending them out. Thankfully, I was able to get in some good old-fashioned rest and relaxation this weekend. We didn't go to see my in-laws, so we just kind of lounged around on Sunday.

We did some lounging on Saturday night too. We sat down and watched Enchanted. This is one good Disney film. If you are looking for something for the whole family, I would recommend this as a rental anytime. Starting out as an animated film, it makes its way into the physical realm by way of a little magic of course. We follow the journey of Giselle as she fights to find her way back to her homeland and her one true love.

If it sounds a bit corny, it is. And, this is part of the reason why this film works so well. Disney never takes itself to seriously in the movie. In jokes combined with homages to the past abound. If you are a fan of classic Disney films, you will love these nuggets. The story is a storybook with a twist. The twist makes it a refreshing option for those looking to step beyond the traditional happily ever after.

With a mix of some good quality acting, over the top character that work because the are meant to be characters, and some catchy tunes, this film is sure to please most of the family. The short running time, 1 hour and 37 minutes, also makes it a easy watch for those with short attention spans. Movie Rating: 4 out of 5. (Almost a classic in its own right.)

The second of the big summer movies came out yesterday. Speed Racer is supposed to be a blockbuster, but the reviews have been somewhat tepid. Nevertheless, I have found a friend who is willing to go against the critics with me next week. If nothing else, the visuals on the big screen should be worthwhile. I don't think that I would get the same response from watching it on a TV screen. For the first time in a quite a while, a good portion of my entertainment budget will actually go to movies at the theater.

At one week away from the thirtieth birthday, I'm pretty much OK with the impending age change. It is what it is, and I can't change it short of altering my birth certificate or violating several laws of physics and biology. However, I did have one of our blog readers point out to me when they came in the store that there is one thing in America that you can do when you are 30 that you can not do before: Run for the United States Senate. Unfortunately, I missed out on this senate election cycle, but there is always next time.

Green Tip: We may not like to think about it, but a funeral offers a final opportunity to go green. Natural burials eschew the formaldehyde used in embalming and use biodegradable containers in place of concrete vaults and metal caskets. If you're serious about the idea, you may want to include details in your will. The website of the Funeral Consumers Alliance, www.funerals.org, can provide further information. (Do Your Part: Americans bury more than 800,000 gallons of embalming fluid and 30 million board feet of hardwood (including tropical woods) each year.) [Brought to you by Page-a-Day calendar.]

I'm personally against the government stimulus package that is currently going out to America. However, it hit our bank account this morning regardless of my feelings. As my father said, I could always send it back. Instead, I'll move it right over to savings. The government is going to help us with a small portion of a down payment. For that, I have all of my fellow tax payers and our future generations to thank.

Happy Birthday Wishes to William Joseph Martin "Billy" Joel. Known as the "Piano Man," Mr. Joel had top ten hits in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. He has sold over 150 million albums and has won six Grammy awards over his career. I'm pretty sure that yesterday's blog entry was the first one to receive a comment from someone in a foreign country. That's one of the weird things about the Internet, even when your a few thousand miles away, you're still next door. I'm sure that there is some type of transcendental thought involved here. Feel free to talk about this amongst yourselves.

I watched Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang this morning. It was a movie that I was interested in when it came out in the theater, but, as often happens, I did not see it. A few years later, it arrived in my mail box. I clocks in at a brisk hour and forty-three minutes and made for a good early morning watch.

The movie is a quirky murder comedy that stars Robert Downy Jr. and Val Kilmer. Built around the oddity that is the L.A. movie industry, the characters find themselves involved in a murder mystery that seems to be out of a pulp fiction novel. With actors of this caliber, the story merely needs to work to make the film good. Thankfully, the story was a good one. This film certainly would not be for everyone. The R rating was deserved. However, it's dark sense of humor and quick one liners delivered back and forth made for a funny diversion to an early morning start. Movie Rating: 4 out of 5.

This election cycle is certainly making for more late nights of following the news. The political theater refuses to lower the curtain, and political junkies like myself are left to watch the data pore across the screens. Heck, I even skipped a Netflix movie to finish out the cliff-hanger in Indiana. After all of the results were finalized, the Democratic race looks similar to what it did before yesterday-both sides are dug in and ready for a long fight.

Big Numbers

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Peanut Butter, and Coffee Royal.

Gnu Bar (Flavor and Fiber) Special: Buy two boxes (16 bars per box) and get a 10 dollar yogurt card for free.

One of the things that I normally check at the start of the week is a blog called The Weekend Gross. It is written by Steven Wong who covers the box office grosses for einsiders.com. Essentially, it covers the top ten at the box office for the previous weekend and will sometimes talk about other movie industry news.

This weekend saw some phenomenal numbers compliments of Iron Man. This superhero is certainly one at which to marvel. In the first entry for the franchise, it grossed over 100 million dollars in the US box office and added almost 100 million more on the world scene. 200 million in one weekend makes for a pretty good take. This is a film that I am looking forward to seeing, but am going to probably going to have to find someone other than my wife to go to see this one.

This summer is shaping up to be very big for movies. While I still need to see Iron Man, I've also got Speed Racer, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and Indian Jones: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls. These are just the movies for May. I might need to find a movie buddy.

Bonus News: If you've been awaiting that much hyped stimulus payment, here is a site that will let you know when you can expect them. I'm looking forward to putting ours into our savings fund so that we can inch a little closer to a house.

There's Still Hockey

Brownie Special: Get 2 brownies for 5 dollars when you ask us for the special price. (Limit 4, must by purchase in multiples of 2.)

I don't really follow the Dallas Stars anymore. I haven't followed hockey since they went on strike a few years back, but I might have to later this week. It seems that the Stars have advanced to the Western Conference finals after a four OT win in the eight longest game in NHL history last night against the San Jose Sharks. At 5 hours and 14 minutes, there is no doubt that the hard core hockey fans at the American Airlines Center got the most for their money.

With the Mavericks done and the Rangers off being the Rangers, the Stars are really about the best sports option in town, unless you count Cowboys mini-camp. It's true that the Stars will face my perennial favorite hockey team in the form of the Detroit Red Wings, but I might have to pull for the Stars this time. After the last nine years of no title and many upsets in the post season, it would be nice to see a winner back in Dallas again. If it has to be hockey to supply it, so be it. Go Stars!

Puzzler: Draw a path from START to END, visiting every icon exactly once along the way. From any icon you may go to the nearest icon that is directly left, right, above, or below some part of the current icon. For instance, from START you can go right to 1 or left to 10, but not down to 5 (since 5 is not directly below START).

It dawns on me at the beginning of each May that I am about to get another year older. Today, it struck me even harder. The impending doom of turning thirty in two weeks time. It's kind of difficult to believe. Among my group of friends that aren't in the Kappa Sigma, I'm one of the youngest. So, it makes it a little bit easier since I only have to worry about ribbing from my wife and one other friend. Of course, the younger guys in the fraternity could say something, but I've always been called an old man by them.

Thirty seems like an age of reflection. The other big age changes at 16, 18, 21, and 25 are all changes of liberation. You start to gain freedoms and rights. Slowly, you become an adult. (If not in actuality, then in the eyes of the law.) Thirty is the first age where you gain no additional right. In fact, there are some things that are actually closing off to you. This is cause to look back and take stock. I guess in a way, 40 is a similar event which might explain the quintessential mid-life crisis.

I don't think that any of us really ever find out exactly what we are supposed to be doing and how to do it. There are moments where we know that it is right, and there are times when we feel a little lost. Sometimes, it is easier to except what we have been given. Other times, there is a call to strike out with bold action for change either for yourself, your family, or others that you've never met. I believe that part of the clue to happiness is knowing that there is always something out there for each of us. The trick is finding it.

We had a little bit of excitement yesterday with the yogurt machine that typically hosts the chocolate and vanilla. Unfortunately, we will be down one machine for the next week. We are waiting on a new gear box. Until we get the part in and the machine is repaired, we will have chocolate and vanilla and two other flavors.

We got in a shipment of the Fior difrutta and the 50/50 pie shell crusts.

Green Tip: Tagua, a tropical palm tree, produces nuts that closely resemble elephant ivory in look, feel, and carving properties. The difference is that tagua is a renewable product that doesn't cost the lives of great animals. Buy tagua products and support a worthwhile alternative to the ugly trade in elephant tusks. (Do your part: Curios, chess sets, Christmas tree ornaments, boxes, and many other tagua products are available from One World Projects) [Brought to you by Page-a-Day calendars.]

Happy Birthday Wishes to Dwayne Douglas Johnson. Better known as The Rock from his days of wrestling with the WWE, he has since focused on his acting career. He has stared in several films over the last few years including The Game Plan, Gridiron Gang, and Doom. He is staring in the upcoming film Get Smart as Agent 23. Of course, The Rock was also my favorite wrestler and the reason why I attended two wrestling shows. His persona was one of the best ever crafted and his skill was excellent. And, who can forget the People's Eyebrow?

Honorable Birthday Mentions: David Robert Joseph Beckham-football player for LA Galaxy. Sarah Elizabeth Hughes-American figure skater and 2002 Olympic gold medalist.

If you are one of our regular yogurt customers, then you will probably notice that our yogurt prices have gone up, effective today. At the beginning of 2008, the brand of yogurt that we carry had a significant increase in price. While we have held off on a price increase, the change in the base price of the yogurt in addition to subsequent increases in the price of spoons, lids, cups, transportation, and transaction costs associated with credit card purchases, has led to the need for this price increase. We are still proud to offer the best, and lowest calorie, sugar free and fat free frozen yogurt in the state of Texas.

Below is a breakdown of the new prices for you along with the cost per once:

Child's (under 12):
$1.99 (2.15: 0.538/oz)
Cone:
$2.77 (3.00: 0.429/oz)
Small:
$2.77 (3.00: 0.429/oz)
Medium:
$3.23 (3.50: 0.389/oz)
Large:
$3.69 (4.00: 0.364/oz)
X-Large:
$5.54 (6.00: 0.333/oz)

Of course, one way to help mitigate the price increase is to join the Yogurt Club. When you join the club, you can save over 15% on your yogurt purchases and take part in exclusive yogurt club specials during the month. Ask us how to join and start saving.

Well, the store entry was rather extensive today, so I won't take much time here. I've got some good friends on the way to Ireland today. I wanted to wish them a safe flight and a great time while they are there. Enjoy the sites, the pints, and the local flavor.
