Man did it rain last night. I attempted to go to Bavarian Grill last night to meet my friends; however, the flood waters kept me at bay. Arapaho was actually flooded in at least two locations last night. After going through the first flooded section and managing to survive without flooding out my car, I decided not to attempt the second so I headed back home. Going home an alternative route still proved to be about 25 minutes for what would normally be a 10 minute trip. (Total cars that I witness flooded in 45 minutes on the road = 7)

Your Saturday Distraction: What Color Is Your Psyche?

Your Psyche is Yellow

You have a ton of energy - both physical and mental endurance.
You are rational and logical, and you can help almost anyone think clearly.
Optimistic and bright, you also have a secret side that's a little darker.

When you are too yellow: You will do anything to get your way, and no one will be the wiser

When you don't have enough yellow: you lack confidence, drive, and humor

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Coffee Royal, Butterscotch, Lemon and Angel Food Cake.

Today is 50% off the sale rack! All items on the sale rack are 50% off the lowest marked price all day long.

I am loving these rainy evenings. There is something that is so nice and relaxing about having the rain come down as you sleep. I've never been able to sleep with those fake sound makers. I need the real thing. In looking at the weather this morning, I think that we may get another evening of rain tonight. Not only am I sleeping better, but the pollen is also getting washed away. :)

Friday In the News: A study published in 2003 stated that there is a drink with more antioxidants than red wine or green tea. Cornell University researchers, led by Chang Y. (Cy) Lee, chairman of the Department of Food Science and Technology, say that the reason that cocoa leads the other drinks is its high content of phenolic phytochemicals, or flavonoids, know as antioxidants that can help stave off cancer, heart disease, and other ailments. (This story brought to you by the WWDTM daily calendar.)

Happy Birthday Wishes to Geethali Norah Jones Shankar. Ms. Norah Jones is a muti-platinum selling artist who just recently came out with her third album, which is what I am listening to right now. She has won numerous awards, including 8 Grammy awards. She was born in New York but raised in Dallas (Grapevine) from the age of four until she was 20 when she left UNT to return to New York to start her music career. Want a free small (7 oz) yogurt? One of the things that I am sure that Rick in Stacy probably hear off and on is people commenting to them how cool it would be to own your own business. I can understand where they are coming from in regards to the dream of being master of your domain; however, lost in translation of that American dream is the reality of days like today.

Most people don't have to worry about coming into work and having the drains back up on them as the grease trap man clears out the catch. Most people don't have to grab a mop and help to fight back the waters. Owning your own business may be cooling in some aspects, but it is also very different and can be more of a hassle. The cool thing about a small business though is the teamwork that it promotes.

The good news is that after 1 and 1/2 hour, we seem to have broken through the clog in the line.

I hope that everyone like the new lay out. I figured that it was time to figure out the new blogger yesterday and this was a happy by-product of that time. It's all done cut and paste now and that makes it easier for a quick change.

Deadbeat and Proud of It

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Coffee Royal, Butterscotch, Lemon and Angel Food Cake.

Today is Shake Day! All shakes are $3.69 all day long (regularly $3.93 to $4.62).

We received a shipment of the Galaxy Granola Cinnamon and Not Sweet Vanilla today. These granolas are only 2 points for Weight Watchers® for 1/2 cup and are excellent as a snack, a topping for yogurt or to use as a pie crust. Come in and try some at the new lower price of $7.99 per pound.

Yesterday, while listening to NPR, I heard a program about credit cards and the companies that issue them. Sufficient to say, it was not very flattering. These companies do a number of shady things that try to take advantage of their customers and have them accrue additional debts. Moving due dates, changing interest rates without cause, intentionally losing payments and universal defaults are just a few of these practices. If you are going to play the credit game, then caveat emptor.

Fortunately, there is a way to play the game and avoid all of the fees: pay the card off each month. Of course, you still have to watch them like a hawk so that they don't move your due by date on you like two of my cards did this year, but you can avoid all of the charges that you would otherwise rack up in interest over the year. The term within the credit business for this kind of customer is a Deadbeat. It is a name that I am most happy to have.

There are of course two other options which will help even more. Save up for what you want to buy by putting aside money each month. Then pay for items with cash, checks or a debit card so it comes directly out of your account. Many debit cards can be used just like a credit card for setting up automatic payments and often have similar reward programs. (Naturally, these programs are set up to get you to use your credit card more frequently and thus obtain more debt; however, with the debit card, you will not add to debt since it will come out of the money in your bank account.) While these two options might seem outdated, it worked wonders for our parents and all of the generations before them.

Clean Car=Rain

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, French Vanilla, Banana, Boysenberry and Angel Food Cake.

Today is Cone Day! All yogurt cones are $1.85 today (regularly $2.72) all day long.

Picking up my car yesterday from Plano Collision Repair (highly recommended auto repair shop) I was told that my car had been given a complementary wash. This is, I am quiet sure, the reason why, after 9 to 10 days of threatening, it rained. It is like an unwritten law. In this case, I am more than willing to give up the clean car for the cleansing rain as the allergies were starting to build from the hovering pollen and pollutants in the air.

They also were kind enough to vacuum the car floor boards. Before I had taken the car in, I had noted to myself that I need to clean off some of the papers from the floor. Nothing drives that point home like having them all stacked in your back set. While the amount on the seat is note an overwhelming amount, it is enough to make me a little bit embarrassed. I guess it doesn't look as bad when it is spread out on the floorboards.

Quiz Day: Are You a Nonconformist?

You Are 62% Non Conformist

You are a pretty serious non conformist. You live a life hardly anyone understands.
And while some may call you a freak, you're happy with who you are.

Huge Nuggets of Love

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, French Vanilla, Banana, Boysenberry and Angel Food Cake.

Today, you can ship to any of the lower 48 states (UPS ground only) for $6.99. Come into the store and pick out your items, then let us ship for you.

I've discovered over the years that it is often the little things that make a big difference. The things that we often forget to say thank you for but, nevertheless, are touched by and happy that someone has made the effort. I am learning now how fun this can be in an everyday application for marriage. It works both ways.

The Mrs. last week was kind enough to take all of my Chick-fil-A calendar coupons, that I get every year for Christmas and always forget to use, and clip them off the calendar. She put them in an envelope marked Chick-fil-A for me to carry in my car which means that I might actually get around to using a few of them this year. This months coupon (and this is really written here as a reminder to my self) is one free four piece nugget.

What brings this to mind is that I got my car back today from the auto repair shop and the coupons are sitting in the back seat. My car looks nice and pretty again. I am glad to have everything settled with the insurance company and to have my car repaired. Of course it would have been nicer to have never been hit by someone running a red light, but it could have been a lot worse.

In continuation of the Monday series, Common Misconceptions about Workouts and Common Sense Responses to Them:

Advice: If you don't work out, your muscle will turn into fat.

Myth: Muscle and protein do not turn into each other. When you exercise less often, your muscles atrophy (get smaller). You will also probably gain weight, because you are eating the same amount of food as when you were exercising. But it will appear as though your former muscle has turned into fat. When you start working out and lose weight, your muscle mass will increase and you will burn fat. So it will look as though your fat has turned into muscle.-By Madelyn Fernstrom, Ph.D., CNS

200

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, French Vanilla, Banana, Boysenberry and Strawberry Shortcake.

Today we have all of our crème pies on sale for $14.99 (regularly $19.99). This is a one day sale only. Don't miss out.

Tomorrow, we have our Coke Float Special. All day long, coke floats will be $2.99 (regularly $4.62).

I read today on greenplastic.com that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has released what it is calling the Definitive 200. This is supposed to be a list of 200 essential albums that everyone should have. This list was apparently created without regard to album sells or awards, but I'm not buying that line. A list like this is both fun and frustrating. It's just really hard to see an album like Radiohead's OK Computer come in at number 111 while the soundtrack to Grease sits at number 37. (For the record, I love Grease and it does have a fantastic soundtrack; however, there is no way that it deserves a higher position than on of the great landmark albums of the 90's.)

The one really nice part of this list is that you can click on the album and see the “logic” behind the choice. The little blurbs make it a worthwhile click through. In going through the list, I did find a few notables that I would like to share:

#5 U2- The Joshua Tree (No surprises. This all around great album is the second CD that I ever owned.)
#16 Prince- Purple Rain (Hello? When Doves Cry?)
#31 Beastie Boys- License To Ill (White boys can rap.)
#32 Guns ‘n Roses- Appetite for Destruction (The album that made me fall in love with Rock n Roll.)
#73 REM- Automatic for the People (Something about this album and it’s overall filling of being out of place that made it seem like it was in the exactly right place.)
#77 Johnny Cash- At Folsom Prison (One of the best live albums ever recorded. Raw.)
#92 Red Hot Chili Peppers- Californication (More ground braking than the number 88 entry on the list, this album marks the beginning of their sober career and a true growth in their music.)
#96 The Clash- London Calling (This album brought punk to the forefront and might just claim one of the best album covers of all time.)
#106 Beck- Odelay! (This thing was huge and showcased Beck’s quirky mixture of music styling on a big stage.)
#111 Radiohead- OK Computer (Seriously #111??? Maybe if they shaved a 100 off this number.)
#119 The Police- Synchronicity (One of the best from one of the best.)
#131 The Cars- The Cars (Instant classic.)
#138 Metallica- Ride the Lightning (This is trash metal at its commercial best.)
#156 Public Enemy- It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back (Public Enemy give both N.W.A and Run D.M.C. a run for their money as one of the most influential rap bands of all time.)
#171- David Bowie- The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust (Talk about a rock concept album. Wow!)

See some that you agree with? Let us know by leaving a comment. I skipped my left off but should have been put on list, but feel free to leave those too.

After a week of cloudiness, I am ready for some real rain. We seem to be on the edge of the rain coverage and are being teased with small doses. I'm ready to start collecting on the April showers early and get some of the dust, humidity and pollen out of the air. I don't mind overcast, I would just like to have some of the wet stuff with it.

Friday in the News: "God's Rottweiler...Cardinal NO...Der Panzer Cardinal...Papa Ratzi..." Those were just some of the nicknames for a prominent member of the clergy. He got yet another name when he was named to his new post in April 2005. Who is he? Pope Benedict XVI. The new pope, formally Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, earned a lot of snarky nicknames during his 20 years as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, a Vatican organization that used to be know as "The Inquisition." Of course, he also has many admirers. In fact, he was probably the only cardinal with a fan Web site, Ratzingerfanclub.com, which praises him for "putting the smackdown on heresy since 1981." (This story brought to you by the WWDTM daily calendar.)

Happy Birthday Wishes to Viktor Lvovich Korchnoi. Mr. Korchnoi is currently the oldest grandmaster, a title which he received in 1956, on the world cheese tournament circuit. He had three classic matches with Anatoly Karpov in the 70's and early 80's. In 1976, he was the first ranking GM to defect from the U.S.S.R. He currently plays for Switzerland. Want a free mini (4 oz) yogurt? Give us the month and year that Korchnoi won his first world title. (Who celebrates that birth of a chess player? A graduate of UT Dallas, that's who.)

Ready for the Weekend

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, French Vanilla, Banana Macadamia Nut, Boysenberry and Strawberry Shortcake.

Today, students from JJ Pearce and Trinity Christian Academy get a free small yogurt today by showing their ID.

Bagels, English Muffins and Pita have arrived! We have all varieties on hand (Blueberry, Sweet Wheat, Cinnamon, Onion, White and Perfect 10). Come and get yours today. Perfect for Weight Watchers®! (Side note: The Blueberry bagels always smell like a blueberry cheesecake donut when I open the box...Mmmmmmm!)

The weekend is almost here which is exciting because we are going out for Erica's birthday tomorrow to Daddy Jack's Wood Grill in Deep Ellum. This is one of our favorite local restaurants. We always tell everyone about it because both the food and the service are outstanding and it is a wonderful dinning experience. Since her birthday fell in the middle of the week and class got in the way, we moved the dinner to Friday night.

The nice thing about restaurants like this one is that you can get dressed up and go out. I think that is part of the fun. It is nice to go somewhere out of the ordinary for special occasions. Of course, we will be aided by the Entertainment card from the Dallas Passbook. You should get one of these books if you like to eat out because you are definitely missing some wonderful savings without one.

The Bell Tolls for Thee

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, French Vanilla, Banana Macadamia Nut, Boysenberry and Strawberry Shortcake.

Today all of our Parfaits are $2.99 (regularly $3.69). If you haven't tried these wonderful desserts, now is a great time. Each one is only 3 points for Weight Watchers®.

For the first time this year, we have an order form available for Easter weekend for bakery items. It is an expanded version of our Thanksgiving and Christmas order form. If you don't see something on the form, we've got all of our regular bakery items available to you as well.

Great news out of the baseball world yesterday as the Texas Rangers announced that the Ballpark in Arlington will no longer have the sell out corporate name of Ameriquest Field in Arlington. (Named for a company that preys on people who can barely afford the loans that they are given.) The new stadium name will be the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Much better. Good call Tom.

I am getting excited about the baseball season starting this year. There is just something about it that if you don't have the fever, you can't understand. The best description that I can give is that undercurrent of excitement that starts to build in the week or two before Christmas and then the joy of Christmas Day when you are a child. That's the giddiness that I am talking about.

I am somewhat upset with the makers of the baseball schedule as I will be unable to see my St. Louis Cardinals this year even though it is the year that the Rangers are playing the NL Central in interleague play. I am not a big fan of the interleague play to begin with, but it is nice when I get to see the Cardinals come thru town. This year, they've taken that from me. :(

The Birthday Princess

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Grasshopper, Banana Macadamia Nut, Boysenberry and Strawberry Shortcake.

Today is Cone Day! All yogurt cones are $1.85 today (regularly $2.72) all day long.

Today is also my lovely wife's birthday. Happy Birthday! She had a birthday breakfast cooked for her this morning and has gotten a few cards in the mail. Plus, I've got a few surprises for her tonight. We baked off one of the low carb German Chocolate cakes last night from Dixie Diner and are looking forward to trying that this evening when she gets home from class.

While birthdays can always be a special day, they seem to lose a little bit as we get older. It's harder with work or school to really be able to relax and enjoy the day. Nobody really wants to take a statistics test on their birthday, but sometimes you have to do it when you have a birthday during the semester. As for it being a special day, it is all in what you or those around you make it. All in all, I hope that she gets to enjoy her birthday.

Quiz Day: Are You Ready to Buy a Home?

You Are Possibly Ready to Buy a Home

You may be ready to buy a home, but you probably need to do more research.
Are you really ready to settle down in one place and make a huge financial commitment?
You probably need more time to decide if buying a home is for you.
Crunch the numbers and look at a few open houses. You'll figure out whether buying a home is something you want right now.

After ready my friend’s blog about his experience with laying down pipe in his front yard, I'm not sure that I really want a home. But, a town home sure does sound intriguing.

Busted Bracket

The bad thing about gambling big is that you can also lose big. The good thing about gambling with only your pride is that, if you are willing to, you can lose big and it will have little effect outside of the friendly razzing that you might or will receive. With this logic in mind, I made a change to my bracket for the NCAA tournament just before it started on Thursday of last week. Seeing the opportunity for a big win on the outside shot of Texas going all the way, I took UNC out in the round of 16 and had Texas finish as the tournament winner.

Like I said, you can lose big. I haven't run the tallies yet, but I am rather sure that I have already secured the biggest loser spot for the 2nd out of three years. My Longhorns let me down again as well as my Duke Blue Devils. Now I'm left cheering on Florida to see if they can rule both football and basketball in the same year. As long as it is not UNC or Ohio State, I'll be happy.

Over the next few weeks, I will post a series of helpful hints for successful exercise programs. These are from an article that I found on MSN and examine common misconceptions about workouts and common sense response to them.

Advice: The best time to exercise is in the morning, because you jumpstart your metabolism.

Myth: While many people are energized by exercising in the morning, it's best to pick a time that works best with your body's daily rhythms. Aim for hours of "down time" during your day. If you have time to exercise in the evening, do it then. Don't avoid exercise because you can't do in the morning. There is a temporary, short-term increase in metabolic rate with exercise, but it lasts only a few hours. That's not a reason to exercise in the morning, if this time is not "you." The best time is when you can fit it into your day.-By Madelyn Fernstrom, Ph.D., CNS

I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great start to their week today. Remember that with summer just around the corner, you have a great ally in Sugarless deLite if you want some help with getting in shape.

Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are all still fighting tooth and nail in this round of consul wars. Nintendo seems to have Sony beaten rather soundly in the hand held arena and, in part due to the one year head start that Microsoft got in 2005, is currently second to Microsoft in the home. It is going to be an interesting race; however, the early indicators show that Sony's two cycle reign might be in trouble.

Of course, not every piece of news from the gaming front has to do with the race or with games. Here is an excerpt from a story that goes to show that gaming systems have grown into a whole new level of functionality especially with the raw horse power of the PS3:

"The Folding@home Project will do something similar. It will integrate idling, online PS3s into a distributed-computing project studying the causes of various diseases. Among the ailments under investigation are Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, cystic fibrosis, and various cancers."-by Tor Thorsen, GameSpot.com

You Are Emerald Green

Deep and mysterious, it often seems like no one truly gets you.
Inside, you are very emotional and moody - though you don't let it show.
People usually have a strong reaction to you... profound love or deep hate.
But you can even get those who hate you to come around. There's something naturally harmonious about you.

The cat move in went fairly well yesterday outside of Mr. Wilson trying to create a hiding space for himself on top of the refrigerator and the bizarre phenomenon known simply as the "duck call" that emanated from his voice box this morning at 5:55 when he decided that we should get up and play with him. The former I think we have solved, the latter I have been told is an almost nightly occurrence. I'm still not sure why people really like owning pets.

Nevertheless, the only real problem that remains is that his food seems to be releasing a beacon call for ants. Last evening, I notice three ants crawling around his water and food bowl which was by the patio door so we promptly cleaned those off, reloaded them and moved them to the fire place. Then, we went to the store to get some ant traps for the home to place around the entrances to the outside walls.

This morning, after laying in bed for awhile debating on whether or not I might be able to replace my traditional cell phone alarm for the "duck call" which sounds something like a mix of a small baby crying and a cat being tortured while in heat with periodic small traditional meows thrown in for good measure, I got up to check on the cat and get ready for work. As I approached his food and water, I saw that the ants had decided to invite their friends and relatives over for a picnic.

Apparently, their main entry point is the fireplace. I laid some additional traps and will hopefully see some progress in the next few days; however, if any pet owners have some suggestions, I would love to here other solutions. This is the first time that I have had a problem with bugs in the apartment and I know that the open source of food and water are drawing them in to the home.

Friday in the News: When the U.S. ambassador to India Robert Blackwill resigned in 2004, what essential part of Indian culture did he cite as part of the reason? In a farewell speech at the end of his difficult and much criticized 18-month tenure, Ambassador Robert Blackwill said, "Don't let anyone tell you differently; those Andhra peppers are without a doubt a weapon of mass destruction!" (This story brought to you by the WWDTM daily calendar.)

Happy Birthday Wishes to William Jonathan Drayton Jr., a.k.a. Flavor Flav. Beware the Ides of March! Today is Teacher Day. All teachers can come in and show their school ID card to receive a small yogurt for only 99 cents all day long. If only Cesar had listened to his teacher...

Bagels, English Muffins and Pita have arrived! We have all varieties on hand (Blueberry, Sweet Wheat, Cinnamon, Onion, White and Perfect 10). Come and get yours today. Perfect for Weight Watchers®!

We have also received a restock on the Gnu Foods Flavor and Fiber bars. These excellent bars are available in Orange Cranberry, Chocolate Brownie, Cinnamon Raisin and Banana Walnut. Each one is packed with 12 grams of fiber, lots of wonderful flavor and is only 2 points for Weight Watchers®. I love to use these as a breakfast bar or a between meal snack.

C-Day has arrived! Wilson the cat, a.k.a. Buddy or Kee-Hat, has moved in to the home today much to the delight of my wife's old roommates who have been taking care of him over the last two weeks. Over the next few days, we will work to integrate the cat into our home and daily lives. I know that this will be a great joy to her and that it will be alright for me.

Despite what many people would like to believe, I am not an animal person. I don't mind visiting them and actually enjoy getting to see some of my friends dogs; however, I have never really had a desire to own one. Nevertheless, I figured if she could take on the last name of Farquharson as part of the marriage, I could take on the cat.

We've decided to keep the master bedroom as a cat free sanctuary which I very much appreciate. As for the adjustments, I am certain that both she and I will be fine and Wilson will find his new home to be much like his old home, a place where he is loved when he feels like it, given food and clean water on a regular basis, his litter box is cleaned and he can stare out the window lying in a beam of sunlight all day.

I realized that I forgot quiz day on Tuesday because I got excited about sharing some of the photos from the honeymoon locations so today I have decided to offer a quiz to make up for it: Do You Fight Fair?

You Fight Fair

For you, a fight is not about proving you're right.
Instead, it's about discussing and resolving difficult issues.
You don't look for fights, but you don't avoid them either.
You realize that clearing the air is good, when you go about it the right way.

So the brackets are up here at work once again as the field of 64 is set to start playing this weekend when March Madness begins on CBS. This is easily one of my favorite sporting events of the year. I love college basketball. Really, I love the second season of college basketball. The tournament is so unpredictable that it never really matters the level of expertise that you have because luck is such a big part of it. I predict that I will once again lose the bracket by one or two games but it will be fun following the games.

This is one area that I will say my wife might have an advantage over some other married women. While I like sports a lot, it is rare that I ever sit down and veg out at the TV. If anything, I like the chance to catch the highlights on ESPN during the evening. I follow sports, but I like to think that I don't take it overboard. (Maybe a little bit on baseball.) Thankfully, my wife is supportive of my small level of sports insanity.

Wednesday Comic:

Alright, I rarely go back and update an entry late in the day; however, today I have had a chance to read some of my friends blogs that I have missed over the last few weeks and one of them had a really cool map of the US that you can use to mark the states that you have visited. In keeping with her rules of engagement, I have only marked the states that I have truly visited (discounted states that have been driven through).

Note: Kentucky and Iowa are both maybes...I would have to check with the parental units for these and a few others.

Thanks to SerenitySprings for the cool find.

Today is Cone Day! All yogurt cones are $1.85 today (regularly $2.72) all day long.

We get a fair number of different newsletters in our in-box at the store for various trade organizations. Today we got one from the Gourmet Retailer that had an interesting article about yet another food designation label that you will soon see on products in the grocery stores: The Mediterranean Diet Symbol. Outside of the pasta and potatoes, this is how I love to eat.

Before we got married, my wife and I both agreed that one of the greatest joys would be waking up next to each other. It is something that is truly wonderful and it has an added bonus of the morning snuggle. What a great way to start the day by holding the one that you love in your arms even if just for a snooze cycle or two. It makes me even gladder that we choose the queen size bed since we can simply scoot over a few spaces rather than roll half way across the room to reach the other person.

Albeit a very good one, it is a little bit of an adjustment sleeping next to someone else. Last night we both got a fairly good rest after a few days of adjustment on the new bed in what seems like for me and, is for her, the new place. The great thing is the attitude with which we have been able to approach the myriad of changes. Helping each other along and having fun along the way.

A special thanks to Stacey for filling in on the blog while I was gone. It was nice to know that the blog was left in capable hands because you better believe that I wasn’t going to touch it on my honeymoon. Great Job!

Thanks for the welcome back comments. It is good to be back at work and blogging away.

Today, you can ship to any of the lower 48 states (UPS ground only) for $6.99. Come into the store and pick out your items, then let us ship for you.

If there is something bad about taking a week off of work, it is playing catch up when you get back. Thankfully, the new staff and Rick and Stacey did an excellent job of holding the place together so outside of a few orders here and there, it has been a fairly easy morning. I figure in another day that I will be back into the swing of things at work.

The married life is going on its second week. The first 5 days we spent in Eureka Springs, AR in a Cottage Tree house for the first two and then right in the center of downtown for the remainder. I tell this to everyone: If you haven't been to Eureka Springs, then make sure you go. At around a 6 1/2 hour drive, it is well worth at least one weekend or, if you want to save, a mid-week trip.

This trip was great for many reasons. Among them was that we just happened to be there during there dead time of the year. While it meant that some of the shops and dinners were closed, it also meant that we had the town virtually to ourselves. (It really seemed like there were only a few other couples in the whole town that we kept running into.)

The final few days we spent moving some additional things into our new home which is a lovely one bedroom apartment. We've got an apartment full of various things with a whole corner devoted to Goodwill and another devoted to wedding presents. On Friday, we did our first combined grocery trip. The fridge is full and we've got supplies for the next 10 to 12 days. We both like to cook and it will be nice to cook our meals together and have the leftovers to share.

The honeymooners must be really having a great time.
I can't say I'm surprised that the manager has not surfaced, sent a postcard, or called. I guess he is otherwise occupied.

Personally, I have an appointment with Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and Donald next weekend I have a stadium seat at Spring training that is calling my name and look forward to watching Chipper Jones and my all time favorite, John Smoltz play ball. Smoltz is so cute that even a Mets fan like me can't resist his charm.

25 Days til Opening Day

Sugarless deLite has its share of baseball fanatics. There is no room for waffling on this subject. I was raised on the New York Mets because my grandmother loved them and taught me everything I knew about baseball until I married the real fanatic. My other half, who is the BIGGEST baseball lover of all time, is an Atlanta Braves fan. It is kind of like a democrat and republican being married to each other.I challenge anyone to come close to my husband's loyalty. He lives and dies by the Braves. You do not want to be at work when the Braves lose. Then there is our manager who loves the St. Louis Cardinals and the NY Yankees. Those are the 2 teams my husband and I love to hate.

When our manager returns from his blissful honeymoon, we are headed to spring training at Cracker Jack Field in Kissimee, Fl. to watch the Braves at spring training.

Back to business. The special today is our Parfaits at $2.99, regularly $3.69. Only 3 Weight Watcher points and they come in Cappuccino, Chocolate, Vanilla, and Key Lime.

The Honeymooners Have Left The City

The Manager is now a happily married man. I saw the whole thing. The bride was absolutely gorgeous. She looked like she stepped out of a fashion magazine, but better looking. The groom, handsome as ever, was beaming ear to ear and looking quite dapper.I have honestly never seen two happier people in love in a long time as these two. He wisked his bride off to an undisclosed location for the week. I tried to get invited to the honeymoon, but that was quickly dismissed. Hey, I just wanted the vacation time.

Therefore,I, the alternate blogger, will be your host for this week at Sugarless deLite with the FYIs.

The Peerless Hard Candy Buttons were delivered this morning and we have a full selection in all flavors.

Give us your tired dreary, Monday Blues frowns and turn them into a smile of relief with a refreshing yogurt cone or shake. Splash some topping or fruit in your shake to get you through the week

With everything going on yesterday, I forgot to blog that the bagels, pita and English Muffins arrived. We have all varieties on hand to start the day.

It is my last day at work until the 12th. If you will excuse me for a little while, I've got to go and get married. I'm looking forward to tomorrow with our family and to showing her our new place. I fear that I won't quite be able to complete everything; however, I've got most of it done. Besides, that's what they make closets and corners for.

In my absence, Stacey will take control of the blog so you will still be able to get your yogurt updates and specials. I hope that everyone has a wonderful time over spring break, because I know that I will.

Friday In the News: You may know that pigs have a knack for rotting out truffles, those elusive and delicious fungi. They are so good at this because the truffles are an aphrodisiac for the pigs. The truffles give off the very same musky chemical found in boar's saliva, which sets off mating behavior in female pigs. By the way, this same chemical is found in the underarm sweat of human males. Happy Birthday Wishes to Daniel Wroughton Craig! Mr. Craig causes quite a stir two years when he was announced as the new James Bond. Despite petitions and boycotts, the filming of the new film proceeded and debuted with wonderful reviews and a hearty box office performance. Of course he has done other films, but once you’re a Bond, that is how you are defined. Want a free small (7oz) yogurt? Two To Go

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Pistachio, Chocolate Banana, Orange Vanilla and Very Berry.

Today is Teacher Day! Show your ID and get a small yogurt for 99 cents.

Last night was a bit of a blur as I attempted to run my final errands. I've got most of them completed now with a few minor ones to go. After getting a late bite to eat, I got started on my big project for the evening which was putting together the new bed from IKEA. 4 hours later, there stood a thing of beauty.

In retrospect, having the second person that the instructions had shown would have been nice. However, I can honestly say that I built it all by myself. Well, I guess I had a little help from the Swedish design team and the 31 underpaid workers in China who put together the pre-fab units. But, I sticking to stance that I a least put it together.

With the mattress delivered this morning, the bedroom is almost complete and looking good. I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. This is a very good thing since I've got two nights left to finish the set up and cleaning. I'm pretty sure that I can do it.
