Michael Phelps has started his quest for Olympic Glory. He is attempting to win 8 gold medals over the next 17 days. Already, he is one of the most impressive athletes on the planet, but this could put him into a category all by himself. He would be, in my opinion, the greatest athlete of all time with 8 wins in these games. This would bring his total to 14 gold medals.

Even if he does not get all 8, it would still be unbelievable to have him win 6 or 7 more golds. However, it is not an easy task. ESPN has an article that handicaps his quest for 8. In reading it last night, I realized just how hard it is to do what he is attempting to do. I don't follow the Olympics very closely, but I will follow this journey. So, if you're not doing the Tivo thing and trying to stay away from all results, you can find out about his first heat for the 400 IM here.

On the Yoga Front: Yesterday hurt. Both Erica and I woke up sore today. The yoga was taken up a notch with some poses that focused on my weakest areas. My knees are always trouble spots and a couple of the poses presented significant issues for me. We discussed after the session how good it was to have the differences in the routine, but it does lead to a bit of pain. Of course, as the month moves forward and the next month comes, we'll be a little more flexible.
