Rather, it's all about Michael Phelps' five gold medals in five tries with 5 World Records to go along with each medal. It's about a person who is competing at such a level that it would be scary if it wasn't so much fun to watch.
Aside from his two new world records, one of which came in the 800M freestyle relay where the USA team turned in a sub 7 minute time for the first time in history, he also became the sole leader in individual gold medals when he collected his 10th and 11th. His 10th came on a race where he had a goggle malfunction that slowed him down. Still, he managed a World Record and an Olympic gold.
