July Specials

You can tell that the July 4th weekend is in effect. Driving into work today was a breeze. The pace seems a little slower outside the store. That and the fact that we have a fair number of cakes ordered with red, white and blue writing on them. Just to let everyone know, we will be open regular hours this week except for the 4th of July when we will be open from 12 PM to 6 PM.

The Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Devil's Food Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Banana and Raspberry Cheesecake.

Our Pie Specials this month are the Peach and the Blueberry Fruit Pies which are available all month for $14.99 (regularly $19.99). We have a full assortment of bakery items that are available this weekend.

A note for our customers on our email list, I am still having some issues with Outlook Express. I hope to have the emails to you by the 5th or 6th of July. Thank you for your patience.

The July Calendar:

World Cup Report: This is why the World Cup is known as the greatest sporting competition in the world. The quarterfinals have provided us with two wonderful games. Yesterday, the host team Germany defeated the Argentina team 1-1 (4-2 in the shootout) in a beautiful match that ended with a fight on the field at the conclusion of the shootout. The Italians rolled over the Ukraine team with a 3-0 win. This sets up the Germany v Italy match for July 4th.

Equalizing Goal scored by Germany’s Miroslav Klose against Argentina back-up goalie Leonardo Franco.

Today, England and Portugal are locked up 0-0 after regulation and have just finished extended play. We may will the second shootout in the quarterfinals just a few minutes after this posting. Later today we will see the second greatest match of the tournament with Brazil matching up against France. The winner of the two matches today will see each other on July 5th.

The President of FIFA, Sepp Blatter, with the 2006 World Cup Mascot Goleo and his ball Pille.

Is it just me or is Goleo’s ball Pille really, really creepy looking? Hope everyone has a wonderful extended weekend.
