Some mornings when you wake up, and it does seem to be Mondays more often than not, you feel like you're hung over not from drink but from a few to many stiff shots from life. Perhaps one of the reasons that Mondays get such a bad rap is that you know that you don't have another day or two to collect your thoughts and rest because somehow or another you just saw another weekend disappear. On the other hand, getting back into the grove of things at work can be a good thing as well. I bet that the French are having very similar thoughts this morning...except for that whole part about work being a good thing.

A very happy Italian fan.
Final World Cup Report: My predication came true as the Italian's defeated the French 1-1 (5-3 shootout). Unfortunatly, the game saw an ugly incident as the legendary French Midfielder Zinedine Zidane was issued a red card (a record 28th of the tournament) for a head butt in the 110 minute of play which will be the last play that the French Captain will ever make in international play as he is retiring. The Italians were outplayed for most of the game but managed to force the shootout and in very un-Italian fashion, score a perfect 5 goals. Congratulations to Italy, the 2006 World Cup winners.
Italy celebrates with the World Cup trophy.
I hope that you have enjoyed this window into this fine sporting event and that you may have be able to learn a little about the beautiful game. Thank you for letting me share with you my love and passion.
