After a pretty good success rate with my pre-season and half-season picks, my post-season baseball picks did not hold up as well. The Phillies finished off the World Series last night with a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Rays. Once again, the World Series was decided in 5 games. The only real drama was the weather.

I'm a big baseball fan, but this is getting rather silly. It seems that the major drama is held in the League Championship Series. The World Series almost seems decided by the time a team takes a two game lead. This isn't the way it used to be. There should be some suspense involved in the October classic.

Despite the lack of suspense, I don't believe the game deserves to be the third story in the sports line up on Channel 11 News. Getting home from dinner last night, I tuned on the local news. (This might mark the second time that I've done this over the course of the year.) I waited through the normal silly stories and got to the sports coverage only to be amazed that the two lead stories involved the Cowboys. The World Series came in as the third story and was covered for 30 seconds. Thanks for the horrible sports coverage Channel 11. (Adding insult to injury, the Dallas Morning News has the World Series bumped to page 2 today.)

For the record, I voted today. You've got today and tomorrow to cast your early vote if you don't want to stand in line next Tuesday.
