Two holiday reminders:
1) If you need a holiday bakery item, you can check the list in the previous post and give us a call at 972.644.2000 to place an order.
2) If you need something shipped for the holidays, please place your order by this weekend. To assure shipment in time for the Christmas without expedited shipping, we must have the orders in by December 16th. You can call the phone number above, or shop us online at sugarlessdelite.com.
This weekend traditionally starts the true busy time at the store. The 12 days of Christmas is normally the 12 days of busy at Sugarless deLite. The same is true outside of the store as well for us on the social front. Last night, we laid out our White Elephant gifts. We've got five different parties in the next few weeks, so we had to do some planning this year.
The good news is that we'll have a good chance to get rid of any really bad gifts that we receive at the first few White Elephant parties. Nevertheless, we'll probably just add them to the gifts that we already have. Since we're moving in a few weeks, we've go no interest in holding them until next year. If you're going to be at one of the parties, beware.
Aside from the two parties this weekend, we also have a baby viewing for Matt and Tiff's new child. You might remember Matt as the former manager here at the store. They had their first child towards the end of last month. Throw in a dinner tonight with my sister and brother-in-law along with two discs of Doctor Who to watch, and we have a very busy week ahead of us.
It seems that the holidays always speed things up. It kind of makes you wonder why we tend to compress everything into a 40 day period. I have to think that it would be better if we all breathed a little bit deeper and slower and spaced things out over the course of the year. The funnies thing about the holidays is how people tend to go into a shell afterward for a few weeks to catch their breath. At least the food is good.
