We've got an incoming email that is taking forever. There is something very wrong with not having access to DSL on one of the busiest corners in the Dallas area. Hint, hint AT&T. It's frustrating not even to have the option of purchasing this service. So we sit here and suffer away with slow downloads and emails that take 30 plus minutes to come through the mail box. One day just maybe we will get something that is a little faster.

Fun Fact Friday: The first U.S. patent, awarded in 1790, required the signatures of the secretary of state, the secretary of war, the attorney general, and the president himself to be approved. In 1770, there was no patent office. Samuel Hopkins's patent application for an improvement in the making of potash used in soap manufacturing landed before the Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson, an inventor himself, who reviewed it and obtained the others' signatures. By 1773, Jefferson and his cabinet were so overwhelmed with patent applications that the duty was handed off to a state department clerk. In 1802, the U.S. Patent Office was finally established.
