Two things result from my daily work blogging exercise. First, my personal blog suffers chronic neglect. Second, there are times when I really just can’t think of anything to write. After nearly 600 entries, it can be hard to think of a subject everyday. Thankfully, this week I have not suffered any writer’s block. For most of the week, I have been one to two days ahead on my blog entries. (Yes, sometimes I cheat and write them early.)
A good portion of my neglect towards my personal blog comes as a direct result of pilfering ideas for it and using them on this blog. Such is the case with today’s entry. In an email, two of my friends asked me about a little thing called the Texas Two Step. While I’m sure that anyone who has lived in Texas most of their lives has found memories of performing this dance in gym class in their elementary years, this dance refers to the primary election process.
For those who choose to vote in the Democratic primary, there is a two step process involved in order to ensure that you maximize your voting power for the candidate of your choice. Put simply, you vote twice. You vote once in the primary. Then, you vote again in the caucus at your precinct which begins on the night of primary at 7:15 PM. If you are voting in the Republican primary, then you only have to vote once.
