My wife and I watched High School Musical last night. I will freely admit that I am the one that made her watch the movie. I like musicals, and I am not ashamed to say it. We grew up watching musicals in my house which is probably because my mom grow up watching musicals on the big screen. As my wife will attest, I will frequently break out in song. If my song is left unchecked, I dance. I know that some people find it embarrassing, but I think it is somewhat natural. (If you ever want to test this, just track me down in a store that is playing Prince.)

The movie itself is like a sanitized Grease for a new generation. It is, like most musicals, cheezy. Of course, the perfect Disney world set-up adds another layer of cheese all together. Despite all of this, or perhaps because of it, I think that Disney actually did a great job with this film. This is a fun movie. I'm not sure that I won a convert, but at least she said that she thought it was cute and enjoyed the film. If you're looking for a fun family film and can put up with or enjoy a certain degree of cheeziness, I recommend this one. Best songs: Stick To The Status Quo and Breaking Free. 3 1/2 out of 5

Yuck High School Musical........They bombard one of the Disney parks with this parade of it it, and I've gotten trampled by little kids wanting to see it so I'm not too fond of it!
