Friday Blog Special: We've got some extra pies from that were baked on Wednesday for the holiday. For today only, we will have our walk-in pies available for $12.99. If you didn't get enough for Thanksgiving or you have guests in through the weekend, these pies are great for you. Just come in and tell us that you want the blog special.
Our bakery is busy catching up from the holiday. Nevertheless, we do have a fair amount of our regular selection available. Parfaits are back in stock, and we are working on cakes and cake slices. Hopefully everyone was able to enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday. I had a pleasantly lazy day. My wife baked the Dixie Diner low carb Carrot muffins for breakfast. While they were quite good, we both decided that they should be called Coconut & Carrot muffins since coconut was the first ingredient. After a few hours of video games, we headed over to her parents house where I watched the Cowboys destroy the Jets with my father-in-law and her grandfather and she got to catch up with her mom and sister. Afterwards, we had a wonderful dinner with the family.
The coolest part of yesterday was the weather. The snow that came down over in Arlington provided about 15 minutes worth of quarter size flakes. There is just something that is nice about having cold snow on the holidays. It seems right. It was also nice to see it disappear. I would not have enjoyed driving home as much.
