We've come to the close of my tenure at Sugarless deLite. While I won't say that it is the last time that anyone will ever see me up here, it is the last time that I'll be up here as the store manager. After all, it is hard to just up and leave a place that you've spent 1/3 of your life. So, I'll be in for a weekend or two in the future, but my future now lies elsewhere.
I have to thank Rick and Stacey for everything that they have done over the years for me and my family. Two nicer people do not exist. I wish them, their family, and the business well. Their support over the years has been fantastic. It is a rarity now to find a business where you become friends with the owners and feel like you are a member of the family. Erica and I have truly been blessed.
Leaving here will be somewhat like leaving Cheers. I know that I will always be welcome back, but I also know that it is time to move forward. Over the next couple of months, I'll have a chance to catch a breath and finalize a new direction. It will be an exciting time. To everyone that I have had the pleasure of helping over the years, thank you.
I had to throw in a congratulations to the Florida Gators for their victory over Oklahoma last night in the BCS Championship game. Thank you for making the college football season a little more bearable. Texas might not have won the national championship, but they win their bowl game and finish ahead of Oklahoma. Besides, 3 out of my 4 teams had a really good year. (Four college football favorites: Texas, Florida, Notre Dame, Penn State.)
Also, if I had a vote, the top five would have looked like this today:
1. Utah
2. Florida
3. Texas
4. USC
5. Oklahoma
