Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Mocha, Maple Nut, Marshmallow and White Chocolate Raspberry.

Today is Cone Day! All cones are $1.85 all day long (regularly $2.77).

I was watching CNN this weekend and saw a bit of a program that highlighted local heroes. This particular one caught my interest as it focused on a couple that has created a website that allows for people to make micro-loans to individuals across the globe. This site is economics and philanthropy united together.

"Kiva.org lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you've sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back."

One of the great things about Kiva.org is that you are given the ability to have an impact on someone around the world by lending them as little as 25 dollars. You’re not asked to give large amounts and you can do as little as donate and forget or you can follow the progress of your loan.

Man, thank you so much for finding and posting that link. I've been wanting to get involved in something like this ever since that guy won a Nobel for thinking of it but I didn't know how to start looking for an organization like this.
