Everyday when I open up the USA Today or Turn on the news channels, it seems that the race for the White House is already in full swing. At least, that's how it appears when the coverage is not focused on Paris Hilton. The coverage seems to come earlier and earlier every time an election comes around. Thankfully, the entertainment value of the elections is also increasing.
This year there are two new political games that are free to download. The first is Presidential Pong. This is "a game of Pong using caricatures of prominent 2008 presidential candidates as paddles. Each candidate possesses a power-up move based on some factoid that is explained in varying degrees of coherency."
There is another game coming out next week called The Redistricting Game where you take part in the practice of gerrymandering of congressional districts to affect the outcome of elections. I'm looking forward to this one. It should cause quite a stir on Capital Hill. (Thanks to GameSpot.com for the news.)
Maybe these games aren't for everyone; however, I can promise you a review in the future because these are right up my ally. I love politics and enjoy playing games. The Pong game is a bit of a novelty and looks humorous. The Redistricting Game is interesting to me. It will be fun to get in on one of the shadier practices in government.
