Second Helping

Round two of the White Elephant parties was not nearly as successful as round one for me in regards to the gift that I received. However, it was more than rewarding for the gift that was given. I put a little bit of thought into gifts. I love to give them. My general rule for a White Elephant gift is to buy one with someone in particular in mind and leave it to chance or their own craftiness to see if they can end up with it. The other option is to give a gift that everyone will enjoy and fight over.

I was glad to see that the chosen recipient ended up with her gift. She also received a legacy re-gift and the responsibility that comes along with it. Assuming that she does her job well, the legacy re-gift will live to see its 10th year at the next Vortex White Elephant party. Thanks to Dave and Holly for hosting.

Your Saturday Distraction: What Will You Get for the 12 Days of Christmas?

For the twelve days of Christmas, your true love will send you:

Eleven christmas trees a-twinkling
Ten midgets a-leaping
Nine ladies waltzing
Eight llamas a-milking
Seven eggnogs a-intoxicating
Six Santas a-hohohoing
Five golden bowls of chicken noodle soup
Four calling bill collectors
