Spring Training is Underway! We'll Miss you Skip!

America's Pastime is here, Spring Training! It is hard to believe, my husband will soon be sitting in front of that TV cheering on the Braves when they're hot and screaming at the top of his lungs with mute button pushed to off when they do something incredulously stupid. It warms the cockles of my heart. Those carefree days of the dog hiding under the bed when they're losing because he's scared of his father yelling at the sports announcers. AHHH... I wait for this serene time of year to commence.

There is a serious sad note. This year we will all miss the humor and great sports commentary from one of baseball's most beloved announcers. My husband and I both had a fond attachment to Skip Carey. From time to time, I know we both perk up our ears when we hear memorable moments of Skip Carey's voice. Skip, you were and will remain one of the best, the wittiest, and the most colorful voices in baseball history. His son Chip, will carry on the Carey dynasty. The picture below shows three generations of Careys announcing baseball. I will mention Skip a lot this summer. Some people aren't meant to fade away.
