The fact that I might have to add another heavy blanket to my bed makes me smile. I love this cold weather. The fact that it was 62 in my apartment this morning made it harder to get out of bed; however, once I got up, I loved it. You can take a boy out of Minnesota, but you can't take the love of cold away from him.

Trepanning-surgically making a circular opening in the skull-began in the Neolithic era, evidently for health and spiritual reasons. Today, there is a new movement of "trepanation advocates," led by jeweler and tree-grower Peter Halvorson of Pennsylvania. Halvorson founded the International Trepanation Advocacy Group after trepanning himself with a scalpel, four drill bits, and an electric drill secured to his bathroom ceiling that he controlled with his foot.
