We had a somewhat relaxing weekend as we shopped and ate our way through the downtown and dreamed of the future. All that hiking around up and down the hillside can get pretty exhausting, but this really is just a fantastic place to go and get away from everything for a few days. Since we went on the weekend, more of the stores and restaurants were open. It was a perfect way to celebrate the close of our first year of marriage and the start of the rest of our lives together. So it seems that after a lazy night last night with a little grocery shopping and a movie, we're back into a busy weekend with a birthday party and a soccer game. We watched Big Fish yesterday. I had never seen this film even though I was always interested in viewing it. It was a very good film. I love Tim Burton's directing style and his vivid colors. Most of all, it was a love story wrapped in a fantasy and that made for good viewing. The first game was horrible as I tried to work off my eight years of rust. I avoided a skunk by virtue of my one point scored. The second game went a little better with some nice rallies amounting to a loss at 15-9. By the third game I had rediscovered my serve and was able to win 15-8. Though I was up in the final game 13-8, Rick managed to come back in a strong fashion and win out 15-13. If I can only get my backhand to return, I might provide a better match. Thankfully, two hours of waiting to see the doctor and one hour of additional waiting with a little bit of X-Rays ended with the doctor telling me that it was just a minor sprain and sending me on my way with a script for stronger than aspirin pain relief.
