Random Thoughts I saw this TV ad for Mylife.com . It shows a attractive women  smiling as see looks at the "My Life" site and giggles as she says that there are 6 people "looking" for me. She giggles with excitement and must think this could connect  her with a long lost friend. The voice over continues and it gives you a feeling that this could be a good and exciting outcome. WARNING!!! If someone is looking for you  and does not know where you are that is good . Maybe it is a bill collector, a former boy or girl friend, or someone who wants to bother you. Hello, my name is Shana Cox.  I have struggled since childhood with obesity with my weight climbing as high as 320 pounds on my 5’2” frame.  I was very sick in my 20s, suffering from obstructive sleep apnea, fluid retention in the extremities, borderline diabetes, severe GERD, joint pain, and even depression.  After trying to lose weight “the hard way” or “the natural way” many times over the years and failing, I finally opted to treat my obesity with bariatric surgery.  I had RNY gastric bypass surgery on June 9, 2008.  As the weight came off, I became more active, even to the point of falling in love with running.  I also adopted a healthier diet consisting mainly of high protein, low carb foods with a few sugar free treats here and there for fun. With medical intervention and lifestyle changes combines, I lost a total of 180 pounds.  To say that I gained a new lease on life

Oh those lows there is nothing worse than realizing or not realizing your low and then scrambling to get your blood sugar back up above 70. Its a terrible disease and one that 25 million Americans suffer from and that number only continues to rise yearly. Chances are you are diabetic or know a diabetic so I wont get into all the long term effects of diabetes other than its frighting. I am an avid cyclist and want to briefly explain an event the American Diabetes Association hosts in late July at the Texas Motor Speedway called the Tour De Cure. The event promotes diabetes awareness and money raised for the event goes to fund research to one day stop diabetes dead in its track. I cant
