Christmas Order Form: (click to enlarge) After going to bed at a ridiculously early time last night, I awoke with my wife to cook her breakfast this morning. The only real problem with waking up at 6 AM is that I don't have to get ready for work until around 9:20. Erica left for work at 6:40 and, left with 2 hours to burn, I decided to play a video game. (This particular game is one of the main reasons that I'm so far behind on my TBR list.) I like playing video games. I love to play them in the evening after a day of wor...

My main interests in these games were the swimming and the gymnastic compotetions. I've now got my free time back since those have been completed. I still follow the news in print, but I am no longer glued to the TV. Nevertheless, the games did manage to increase my television (non DVD's) watched time to about 31 hours this year. Twelve hours of Olympics is enough. With my craving for Olympic coverage fading, I've been able to get some things accomplished this week. It's been a week devoted to getting my car back in top shape. It's got four new tires and will soon have an oil change and an alignment. Cars are such a great joy t...

I'm trying to finish up a game that I've been playing, but I am running into a problem that I often have in RPG's. In short, I'm a collector. I like to not only beat the game, but beat it with 100% completion. It's one of the reasons that I have so many games that I have not finished the last chapter. There sitting right on the edge of completion so that I can go back and collect all of the hidden items or skills. Thankfully, I made some pretty good progress last night. Day Off=Errands

Yogurt Flavors: Chocolate Decadence, World Class Vanilla, Toffee Coffee, and Peach. Sierra deLite bars are on sale today for only $2.99 (regularly $4.25). Well, I got the day off yesterday which means that I got to run errands. But, I did get a few important things done. After a day that involved bank trips, grocery store visits, and three loads of laundry, my wife was kind enough to cook us a low-carb lasagna. As an added bonus to the excellent dinner, we've got yummy left overs for lunch for the next two days. After running around all day, I really just felt like relaxing. I put in a video game that I was playing at the beginning of the year. The great thing about RPG's is that a good memory and a players guide can get you right back into the story line. I'm actually almost finished with Dragon Quest VIII. I figure a few more hours of game time should let me complete it. :) Things found on the web today: In the never ending proliferation of top 25 lists on the web, here i...

The winning number is worth 14 dollars today. (Remember that you must tell us the current number to redeem the elevated amount.) A little game called Halo 3 was released at midnight this morning. It is predicted that this could be the biggest game launch in history with over 150 million dollars brought in over the course of 24 hours. I'm looking forward to playing this game in mid-October but will have to wait since I don't own a 360. Nevertheless, I'm excited to see the trilogy come to an end, and the game has gotten very positive reviews both for its game play and story line. So, if you are one of the thousands taking today off of work to enjoy the first day of Halo 3, I hope you enjoy it. World Cup Update: The US and German teams both rolled into the semifinals with 3-0 impressive 3-...

Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are all still fighting tooth and nail in this round of consul wars. Nintendo seems to have Sony beaten rather soundly in the hand held arena and, in part due to the one year head start that Microsoft got in 2005, is currently second to Microsoft in the home. It is going to be an interesting race; however, the early indicators show that Sony's two cycle reign might be in trouble. Of course, not every piece of news from the gaming front has to do with the race or with games. Here is an excerpt from a story that goes to show that gaming systems have grown into a whole new level of functionality esp...

Getting the Split

Image
Yesterday was a big day. First the Dallas Mavericks came out and manhandled the San Antonio Spurs to get the series tied at 1-1. Doing what all good teams should, they bounced back from a tough loss and made a statement. Now they have to match this characteristic with the one that the Spurs could not do, hold home court. As if that was not enough, E3 (Electronics Entertainment Expo) started with its traditional day of announcements before the first official day. Don't know what E3 is? Think of it as the Super Bowl of Nerd Dom. The single greatest event in gaming, E3 is where all of the big boys (Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony) show off all of there new toys (Xbox 360, Wii and Play Station 3) and all of the upcoming games and peripherals. This thing is huge. One of the employees yesterday said "I hope that you appreciate the fact that I am missing the coverage of E3 to come into work today." So what was so great about the day before the first day? If you want the full rundow...
